Professional Biography

Daniel A. Rubin, M.D. received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Central Florida, followed by his Medical Degree and Family Medicine residency from the University of Florida.  Dr. Rubin became board certified in Family Medicine in 2001 and has been a faculty member with the Department of Community Health and Family Medicine since 2001. He was appointed Assistant Director for the Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Program  in 2013. Dr. Rubin is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine. He is the Course Director for the Introduction to Clinical Practice course, and group advisor for the Family Medicine Interest Group.  Dr. Rubin been published in the 10 Minute Diagnosis Handbook and the Geriatric Nephrology and Urology as well as reviewed for the Journal of National Medical Association, American Family Physician, and Journal of Family Practice.  He has been an invited speaker at local, state and national conferences.  Dr. Rubin has been interviewed by Dermatology Times and the Gainesville Sun, and quoted on ABC online medical articles. He has also served as a regular physician volunteer for the Equal Access mobile clinic.
