Professional Biography

Ms. Acosta graduated with her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies June 2016 from the University of Florida. During this time, she has worked with the Equal Access Clinic, a free, student-run health care clinic established by the UF College of Medicine, and is a member of the pre-P.A. club. When she has time, she attends meetings for Let’s Talk About It, a north central Florida group that empowers HIV-positive women, to provide health care advice and counseling. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in Fall of 2012, she took a year and a half to work as a patient care assistant on the cardiac floor at UF Health. She is a National Health Service Corp Scholarship recipient awarded to students in the medical field who demonstrate and interest and commitment to serve as primary care provider in underserved and rural areas. She was award the Orlando Magic Achiever Scholarship in May 2009 for outstanding achievement and dedication. She has been highly involved in volunteer work for many years and has a strong commitment to her community.
