Resident Profile – Jake Szereszewski, MD
My name is Jake Szereszewski and I grew up in Ancaster, Ontario, Canada. I completed my Undergraduate studies at the University of Western Ontario in Pharmacology/Toxicology and stayed there to complete a Master’s Degree researching the Kisspeptin/GPR54 signaling system. I studied medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland where I not only confirmed my passion for Family Medicine, but also had the opportunity to live and travel around Europe. Ireland also introduced me to the world of Specialty Coffee – something that has now become a bit of an obsession.
I chose to pursue a career in Family Medicine because I love the diversity of the patients and pathologies we get to see in the clinic every day. My interests in Family Medicine are also broad and I hope to utilize my background in pharmacology as I move forward in my career. Indeed, our program has many opportunities for this including a dedicated Pain Management clinic. I also look forward to taking full advantage of the opportunities afforded to me as a resident at such a large academic institution like UF and am excited to spend the next 3 years here.
