August 26: UFIT Updates & Opportunities (Wi-Fi Blocking, 24/7 Help Desk, One Drive for Business, Adobe Day Event)

Wi-Fi Access: Blocking Mode Begins – Tuesday, September 2

A reminder that the wireless NAC Posture Assessment Warnings began on August 19.  Blocking begins on Tuesday, September 2.

Please ensure that Java and Flash are up to date, MS Windows automatic updates are turned on, and an antivirus program is installed, active and up-to-date on each wireless device in your college, unit, or department!!   For assistance with compliance please contact the UF Computing Help Desk.

Help Desk Support Now Available Via Email, Phone 24/7

As part of the commitment to support UF Online students, in May the UF Computing Help Desk began 24/7 email and phone assistance. This extension of 24/7 service hours is now available to all UF students, faculty, and staff.  Evening and overnight Help Desk staff can assist with password resets, administrative application issues (such as in myUFL), VPN assistance, and more. Due to the Help Desk walk-in hours not being changed, services such as laptop consulting and software purchases are unavailable during the extended hours when the Hub is closed.

OneDrive @ UF Service for Faculty and Staff

OneDrive @ UF provides 1TB of cloud storage to create, store, and synchronize content across all of your devices.  With OneDrive, there is no need to save documents to a flash drive when traveling or using a different device. You can securely share documents and files with people internal and external to UF, and work simultaneously on documents with others using online or desktop MS Office apps.   You can also synchronize and access your data from your browser, PC, or native iOS/Android/Windows Phone Apps.  Visit http://www.it.ufl.edu/gatorcloud/ to sign up and confirm your eligibility for the OneDrive @ UF service. (GatorLink authentication is required.)
