The Sey Park Memorial Fund for Resident and Student Education and Resiliency Outreach is named in honor of Dr. Sey Park, a family medicine resident who tragically passed away in 2018 at the age of 28. Sey was beloved by patients and colleagues alike for his warm personality and compassion towards everyone he met. He was also passionate about outreach programs such as UF COM sponsored mission trips and Equal Access Clinic to provide care for underserved populations. This fund is aimed in part to provide support to programs focused on care towards these underserved populations.
Dr. Park was also known for his support of medical students and fellow residents during times of emotional distress. He recognized the importance of maintaining resilience while in medical training to support those who dedicate their profession towards the care of others. An additional goal of this fund is to promote programs and initiatives to highlight the importance of maintaining resilience and to promote resident well-being.
