About Leslie Avery

I am the Chief and Associate Professor of the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine since July of 2013. I received a Doctorate of Medicine from Yale University School of Medicine and completed a pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital and Research Center in Oakland, California. I completed a pediatric critical fellowship at the University of California at San Francisco and Children’s Hospital Oakland, California. Before joining UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, I was a Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Nevada School of Medicine / Sunrise Children’s Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada serving as a pediatric intensivist and also later served as the medical director of the PICU and sedation services.
