Nurse Practitioner
About Meghann B Padgett
My name is Meghann Padgett, and I am a family medicine nurse practitioner at UF Health Family Medicine – Old Town. I am excited to be a member of the team at UF Health Family Medicine – Old Town because I feel the practice is dedicated to helping a medically underserved, rural community gain access to quality health care.
As a family medicine provider, my goal is to establish long-term relationships and rapport with my patients. This is necessary to build my patients’ trust, comfort, and confidence in the medical care they receive from me. I want my patients to know that I am their advocate and that I am dedicated to helping them make health care decisions to achieve their optimal health and wellness.
Though I’ve always been inspired to help others, I discovered my passion for nursing while caring for my great-grandmother. The experience led me to earn a bachelor’s in nursing from St. Johns River State College, and a master’s in nursing from Chamberlain University. I then went on to become board-certified as an ARNP, focused on working in family medicine.
I love learning new things and I am interested in expanding my knowledge on holistic healthcare and decreasing the negative effects of polypharmacy for my patients in a way that allows for a healthier and happier lifestyle.
Outside of the clinic, I love to spend time with my family. My family are outdoors people and our favorite pastimes are camping and kayaking at the beautiful local springs and state parks. Family time is very important to me.
