The mission of the Program in Bioethics, Law and Medical Professionalism (BLMP) is to provide outstanding instruction, scholarship, and professional development activities addressing issues in bioethics, humanities, social sciences, health policy, health law, and medical professionalism for medical students, residents, and practicing physicians, as well as other health professionals.
Research, teaching and service activities of the Program focus on developing the knowledge base and skills to provide humane, compassionate care in today’s complex social and medico-legal environment. Among the specific areas in which the Program focuses its research and public policy consultation are end-of-life issues and issues raised by advances in genetic technology.
